Photography And Me

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2000. Parkinson’s is a movement disorder. This manifests itself in various ways. Two of these ways are tremors and dyskinesia. While different, they are both uncontrollable body movements. This is problematic for one trying to do photography. My photography days were numbered.

Over time, I adapted to the movement problem. One of the ways I did was learning to take the photo at “the top of the movement”. This, alongw ith …unless one “goes with it” and lets the natural results of the movements be the unique art form that they are.

The images are the result of photographing various light sources with various degrees of camera movement - both purposefully and Parkinson’s induced. They are the result of “light moves”.
