Who Am I?
I get called a lot of things - not all bad. I'm often called an architect. I'm not. I'm a designer who designs architecturally. But I don't start with architecture. I design from the inside. If designing a home - remodel, addition, or new - I start by arranging the furniture. I look for the views to capture - inside and out. I lay things out in a way that works functionally. Then I design a house around it.
I was once told by another designer at an awards program that she finally figured out what makes my work distinctive. She said, "Your work is sculptural. You sculpt spaces." I think it's true. After determining the primary furniture design, I form, sculpt the space around it.
